Professor Abraham Haim was the founder and the head of the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management at the University of Haifa where he also headed the Israeli Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Chronobiology.
Professor Haim was a leading researcher in the field of light pollution. He held the following roles:
- Vice Chairperson and a founding member of the Loss of the Night Network (LoNNe), COST
- Vice President of the International Zoological Congress (IZC)
- Vice President and a founding member of the Israel Light Association
- Board Member of the International Light Association (ILA)
He served on the editorial board of Chronobiology International and Integrative Zoology and he has published 120 articles in pre-refereed journals and 25 articles as conference proceedings.
